Emergency Rental Assistance: La Casa Norte’s Community Assistance office in Brighton Park helps families access emergency rental assistance. If you have an active eviction court case and would like to apply for assistance, get in touch by phone or email (see above).
For Recent Arrivals: In collaboration with Wellness West and the Illinois Housing Development Authority, our Community Assistance office offers support to recently arrived migrants and asylum seekers completing rental assistance applications. This support is delivered on site at designated city shelters.
Additional Information: You may be eligible to apply for rental assistance from Chicago’s Department of Family and Support Services. Call 3-1-1 to ask for “short-term help.”
If facing eviction, call Cook County Legal Aid for Housing and Debt to ask for free legal help. The hotline is 855.956.5763, open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Please do not contact La Casa Norte for mortgage assistance; we do not process these applications.

Experiencing Homelessness?
If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness, please direct them to the nearest hospital or police station for assistance with shelter.
Or call Chicago City Services at 311 or 312.744.5000. Regular call hours are 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. If calling after hours, hit “O” to talk to an operator. Tell the staff or operator that you are homeless and in need of shelter. You will be directed to the nearest pick-up point to be taken to a shelter.
If you’re currently housed but worried that you will lose your housing, call 311 and tell the staff or operator that you need “short-term help.” Your call will be transferred to a homelessness prevention call center. Managed by Catholic Charities, the call center can assist in multiple languages. A provider may be able to help you apply for a homeless prevention grant.
Access housing and waitlists through the Chicago Coordinated Entry System: Anyone who is sleeping in a shelter, outside, in a vehicle, or any place not meant for human habitation can call the entry system call center at 312.361.1707 to complete a housing assessment. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
